Why TixPro

Over forty years independent — and not for sale.

While much of this industry gets bought up and consolidated, Center Stage stays owner-run — built and backed by people who've spent their careers in the box office. That's been the idea since 1985.

Built by box office people, for box office people — theaters, arts centers, schools & universities, and fairs.

40+
years serving
box offices
Family-founded in 1985 · still going.
Owner-run since 1985. Today's owners worked here first.
Not for sale — and not going anywhere
Independent since 1985 — and staying that way.
A note from Dale & David
We'll keep this straight, because that's how we'd want it.

We're Dale and David. Between us, we've spent decades in ticketing and behind a box office window. In January 2025, after both working for Center Stage Software for ten years, we bought it. We didn't buy it to flip it. We bought it because we care about the people who use it, and we knew they deserved better.

Here's the honest part: for years, our software wasn't why people stayed with us — our people were. When you called, you reached someone who knew the box office and cared enough to work the problem through — every time. We're proud of that, and we won't pretend otherwise. What's changed is the software. TixPro 8 finally works as hard as our people always have.

You spend your days taking care of other people. You deserve a company that takes care of you the same way. So if you've got a question, a concern, or you just want to see if we're for real — reach out. You'll get a real person, by phone or email, from a support team that's been in your shoes.

Customer service for people who do customer service

We think of the job as problem-solving.

Call or email with a question and you're not getting a script, or a ticket number in a queue. You're getting a team of specialists, led by someone who spent years on the other side of the box-office window — people who'd rather take the time to work through your problem than fire back a fast answer that leaves you flailing.

“I love being able to talk to an actual person when I need help and not just reference an FAQ or a chat bot.”

Jordan Gohara, General Manager, International City Theatre
Here's what that looks like

Say you're setting up a season package. On paper, simple. In practice it's an amalgamation of years of little changes — a board asked for something, a manager added a wrinkle, then it started selling online — until it's a thing nobody's fully mapped. So we listen. We ask the questions that surface what it actually needs to do.

Then we hold four things in our heads at once — miss one and you feel it months later:

At the window
How your box office sells it.
Online
How patrons buy it online.
Redeem & distribute
How tickets get handed out.
Season-close reporting
How it all reports at close.
Getting all four right takes experience — and it takes time. We take the time.

Call or email, and you'll get a real person with real experience. We listen, we advise, and we help wherever we can. That's the whole job — and we happen to love it.

Have a problem to work through? Let's talk.

Independent, on purpose

The industry is consolidating. We're not.

One by one, the box office companies arts organizations relied on have been bought up, merged, and folded into bigger platforms — and the support desk you trusted goes with them.

Center Stage is owner-operated and staying that way. If the company ever changes hands, it'll go to the people who already work here — the way it came to us — not to a private-equity fund, and not to the highest bidder.

Privately owned. Not for sale.
What's been happening in the field
A major platform — bought by private equity
A well-known name — merged and renamed
A longtime favorite — rolled into a bigger suite
Center Stage — still independent, still owner-run
Since 1985

Over forty years, one idea: make life in the box office easier.

1985
A couple writes a program to run their own box office — back when tickets lived in cubbies on the wall.
1985 → today
Over four decades supporting box offices of every size — theaters, arts centers, schools, and fairs.
Jan 2025
Dale & David — each already a decade in — buy the company. Not to flip it; to build it something better.
