Center Stage Software, a Minnesota general partnership (“Center Stage,” “we,” “us”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through our website at centerstage.com and our sales and support communications (together, the “Site”), how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have.
This policy covers information we collect from visitors to the Site and from the venues, theaters, and organizations that are our customers or prospective customers (“Clients”).
It does not cover ticket buyers and patrons of our Clients. When a patron buys a ticket or makes a donation through Webtix, Wintix, or another Center Stage product operated by a Client, the Client decides what patron information is collected and how it is used. Center Stage processes that information only on the Client’s instructions and under our agreement with the Client. Patrons with questions about their information should contact the venue or organization they purchased from, or review that organization’s privacy policy.
Information you give us. When you request a demo, contact us, open a support ticket, sign up for a support plan, or buy our software, we may ask for your name, organization, job title, email address, phone number, mailing or work address, and payment information. Support tickets may also include screenshots, log files, or database extracts you choose to send us.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our web server and security software automatically record standard browser data: your IP address, browser type and version, device type and operating system, the pages you visit, referring page, and the date, time, and duration of your visit. Our security software also logs IP addresses, login attempts, and requests for suspicious URLs to detect and block attacks.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.
Website analytics. We use Google Analytics to see how the Site is used in aggregate: which pages are visited, from what region, on what devices, and for how long. We use this browsing data only to improve the Site. We do not use it to identify or contact individual visitors, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not link it to the contact information you give us through our forms.
Information from other sources. We may receive contact information about a venue or organization from industry directories, referrals, or partners, and payment confirmations from our payment processor.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive data such as racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health information, sexual orientation, citizenship or immigration status, precise geolocation, or biometric data, and we ask that you not send it to us.
We use the information above to:
We collect only the personal data that is adequate, relevant, and reasonably necessary for these purposes, and we do not use it for a materially different purpose without telling you first and, where required, getting your consent.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not rent or share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share personal information only in these situations:
| Category of recipient | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Service providers (web hosting, email, help-desk software, analytics, payment processing, accounting) | Only the data needed to perform their function for us | To operate the Site and our business |
| Professional advisers (attorneys, accountants, insurers) | Data relevant to the advice | Legal, tax, and insurance matters |
| Government or law enforcement | Data specifically requested | Only when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the safety of any person; we push back on requests we believe are overbroad |
| A successor business | Business records including customer contact and account data | If Center Stage is sold, merged, or reorganized, with notice to you |
Our service providers are bound by contract to use your data only for the services they provide to us and to keep it confidential.
These are the longest we keep each kind of data. Often it goes sooner.
| Data | How long, at most |
|---|---|
| Security and server logs (IP addresses, login attempts) | No longer than 30 days |
| Website analytics data | Detailed data no longer than 14 months. Google keeps aggregate report totals beyond that; those do not identify individual visitors. |
| Inquiry and demo requests that do not become customers | No longer than 24 months after last contact |
| Client account, billing, and support records | The life of the customer relationship, plus 7 years for tax and legal recordkeeping |
| Support ticket attachments (screenshots, logs, data files) | No longer than 90 days after the ticket is closed |
| Marketing email list | Until you unsubscribe |
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it within a reasonable time.
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and security monitoring on the Site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we learn of a security incident that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
Minnesota residents have the following rights under the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act. We extend the same rights to all Site visitors and Client contacts, wherever you live.
How to exercise these rights. Email info@centerstage.com or call 831-920-1254. Tell us which right you are exercising and enough information for us to identify you and verify the request. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask the agent for proof of authority. We will respond within 45 days and may extend once by another 45 days when reasonably necessary, in which case we will tell you why. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Appeals. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing info@centerstage.com with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will respond in writing within 45 days. If we deny your appeal, you may submit a complaint to the Minnesota Attorney General at ag.state.mn.us.
The Site is intended for business use and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we do not sell or use for targeted advertising the data of anyone we know to be under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
The Site links to sites we do not operate, such as Facebook, our partners, and our Clients’ ticketing pages. Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies.
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change to how we collect, use, or share personal data already collected, we will notify affected Clients by email and post a notice on the Site, and we will give you a reasonable opportunity to withdraw consent to the new use before it takes effect.
